Azerikimya Gas Operations

Azerikimya oversees the distribution and supply of natural gas and petroleum products in Azerbaijan, ensuring safe and reliable delivery to industrial, commercial, and residential customers. Its operations cover the majority of Azerbaijan, except for the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, while international operations are managed through its regional subsidiaries.
The development of Azerbaijan’s gas network began in the 1970s. The Iran–Astara–Gazi Mammad–Gazakh main gas pipeline, built in 1971, laid the foundation for gas supply to cities and settlements.
Azerikimya emerged as a leading entity in gas production, distribution, and infrastructure management, continuing the modernization and expansion of the country’s gas grid.
The company’s mission is to provide safe, uninterrupted, and environmentally responsible gas supply in compliance with national legislation and international standards. It emphasizes the adoption of advanced technologies and management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 10002, and ISO 50001, ensuring sustainable development under the Plan-Do-Check-Act principle.

Customer service is a priority. Azerikimya operates a 104 Operational Service Call Centre, which handles inquiries, reports on accidents (such as gas leaks, fires, and carbon monoxide incidents), and ensures fast responses and follow-ups. The Call Centre coordinates continuously with emergency services, and all calls from fixed and mobile lines across Azerbaijan are free of charge.
Since taking responsibility for the national gas network, Azerikimya has built 54,848 km of pipelines, repaired 11,032 km, and supplied natural gas to 1,668 settlements. As of June 1, 2022, 96.3% of Azerbaijan’s population had access to gas, excluding recently liberated areas.
Modernization projects include the installation of “one-step” regulation systems, allowing each customer to use individual gas regulators while maintaining stable supply. With the support of government service centres, Azerikimya has improved customer convenience and efficiency through ASAN Service and ASAN Utility Centres, operational since 2014 and 2016 respectively.
Through continuous infrastructure upgrades and production organization, Azerikimya is advancing the gas sector in Azerbaijan in line with contemporary technological and safety standards, ensuring reliable service and sustainable development for the country’s energy network.
